Dogs and Cats

When I visited Hachioji on my way to see the Yumebi museum for the Gundam mecha art exhibit, I found this shop dogs and cats shop, Kojima. It has dogs and it has cats. No idea what happens during a heavy rain, though.

I should go check this pet store out the next time I am in the greater Tokyo area. I have a Shiba Inu and I wonder if Japanese pet stores would sell those cute shiba inu yukata I saw in the Inu Senryu magazine.

I didn't go inside so I can't say what kind of supplies they carry. The shop is in Hachioji, on the main street west/north of the train station about 1 mile in the direction of Takao. It's just past the Yumebi art museum.

What pets tend to be most common in Japan? In Tokyo?

I'm not seeing actual figures or official sources at the moment, but what I am finding indicates that in Tokyo, it's dogs, followed by cats, then fish. Around the rest of Japan it's probably pretty similar.
