Basara Ramen
Basara has gotten pretty popular with female fans attracted by the pretty-boy characterizations of historical figures. So much so that you can now eat Basara ramen instant noodles.
Apr. news: 5/14: Reached the 7 week mark. Bruise encircling the heel has subsided somewhat, and the impact point where the car hit the top of my foot doesn't hurt anymore when I touch it. But, the bone itself is not yet starting to mend. The doctor talked about using ultrasound treatments to accelerate healing, but some Japanese regulation prohibits ultrasound within 3 months of the break. He did state that it's ok to try walking around more without crutches, so I will hobble the 4 feet between my kitchen table and the sink for cleaning the dishes at night. But, since the bone is still fully broken, I'm not even going to try walking normally. Next x-rays will be in 3 more weeks.
3/25: Got hit by a car while crossing the street. Some bruises and scrapes, plus a broken bone in my left foot. Right wrist is swelling up, too. So, maybe less writing and sightseeing for the next month.
I'm the guy that created the Akira Toriyama Super Database, as well as the .Hack-oriented Helba Gata. Back in the 1990's, I lived in Japan for 2 years, working as a video game programmer and as a technical writer for Hitachi. After returning to the States and living in Texas for 10 years, I've decided to try living in Japan again. I'm interested in various manga, and to a lesser extent various anime. I'm also studying nihon-go.
