Neko Kirby

There's a therapist office on Streetcar Street in Tenmonkan that offers cat relaxation therapy. They advertise by sticking the Kirby video game character into a Hello Kitty head box.- Nekirby!

Hot Pepper, for Jan. 2021

Hot Pepper is a free advertising magazine that focuses mainly on local restaurants, but can have ads from just about any kind of business that wants to spend the money. Usually, the covers have photos of various popular young actors or singers. It's rare to see anime featured, so I grabbed a copy to check out whether there was something inside the issue talking about Sailor Moon.

But there wasn't.

"When the moon hits-a your eye like a big-a pizza pie."

Trombone New Year Chalk Art

Cafe Trombone has their new sign out for the upcoming change-over from "the year of the Rat" to "the year of the Ox." The main text recounts how bad 2020 has been, and wishes for things to get better in 2021.

We can only hope.

Super Mario Kinder Egg

I was at 7-11 recently, and spotted a box of Kinder chocolate eggs next to the register. These are the ones with the capsule toy inside. If it was at Donkey, I'd only buy one if it was under 150 yen, but the 7-11 eggs are 200 yen. I got it for the blog (and the chocolate). The figures are modeled after the 2006 Super Mario video game.

Turtle Mario. About 1.5" tall, and pretty-well detailed.

"Let's go!"
